I’m back with some Tip & Tricks to help you with your fitness training! As you know (Or now you will) I am training for the St. George, Utah full marathon. Hope all of this advice helps you like it helps me 🙂 Enjoy!
Personal Habits: 1. Chapstick! It’s a must!! Take note that you will want a clear chapstick. My cherry flavored chapstick melted in my fanny pack and stained my white iPod cord (Insert mad face emoji) 2. Sunscreen! Put it all over, and then all over again! It’s pretty much easy to say that when you run for long distances that sunscreen needs to go everywhere, but one place that I used to forget but CAN’T now is putting the sunscreen in between the braids in my hair. My scalp used to get so… crusty! Eww! 3. Deoderant! And not just in your armpits, I like to put it in the crease of my elbows and behind my knees. This helps sweats not ‘run’ so much on my hands and down in my socks 🙂
MOTIVATION FOR YOU: I can’t stress it enough on how important it is to have a community who just gets you, you know! You want people who are going to support you and make you feel just as special as you really are! Having family, friends, and a community that has interest, investment, and a goal oriented mind set as you do are the best people to surround yourself with because, honestly, there are so many people out there that just want to tear you down and make you inferior. YOU ARE NOT INFERIOR! You are you, and that is pretty awesome because there isn’t anyone else who can succeed at that career 🙂 Just as my friend Zoe says “It’s all about the Law of Attraction” and she is so right! Start following the media that you think will make you better; start conversation about it; make friends with the right people; read about it! Stay away from those Debby Downers, even if you don’t have a physical running group (or workout group) it’s still valued to have a solid source of community from the web. Keep in mind that you will need to be that person that supports, encourages, and hold people accountable so take note from the awesome people who you look up to today
Keep up the sass, seriously!
